tunamp: your Spotify, on stream
A little window on your stream that shows the song you're playing on Spotify. It pops up when music is playing and hides itself when you pause.
Setting it up (about 5 minutes, once)
- Log in with Twitch so tunamp knows it's you. It's private: only tuna (and landy, who set it up) can use it.
- Make your own Spotify app and paste its two keys in below. Sounds techy, but it's just a form; the window below walks you through it.
- Log in with Spotify.
- Pick a style. You can change it whenever you like, even mid-stream. OBS updates by itself.
- Copy your link (the Copy button).
- In OBS: under Sources click +, choose Browser, call it tunamp and click OK. Paste the link into URL, set Width 400 and Height 170, then click OK.
- Play a song on Spotify. It shows up in a few seconds. Drag it in OBS to wherever you like.
If something's off
- Nothing showing? Make sure a song is actually playing (not paused), and that Spotify isn't in a Private Session, which hides it. Podcasts don't show either.
- Spotify says "INVALID_CLIENT: Invalid redirect URI"? The Redirect URI in your Spotify app has to match the one below exactly. Fix it in the app's Settings, save, and try again.
- Spotify refused your account? Spotify only lets these apps work if the account that made the app has Premium.
- Your link showed on stream? Click New link and paste the new one into OBS. The old one stops working.
- Stopped working after a while? Log in with Spotify again here. Your link stays the same.
tunamp is private to tannedtuna. Log in with your Twitch account to carry on.
Twitch always asks which account, so make sure it's yours. Only your name is used, nothing else.
Make your Spotify app (one time only):
- Open the Spotify Developer Dashboard and log in with your normal Spotify account. If it asks, accept the developer terms.
- Click Create app. Fill in:
- App name: tunamp
- App description: now playing on stream
- Redirect URIs: paste this, then click Add:
- Under Which API/SDKs are you planning to use? tick Web API.
- On your new app, click Settings. Copy the Client ID into the first box below, then click View client secret and copy that into the second box.
Your keys are checked with Spotify and stored encrypted. You need Spotify Premium on the account that makes the app; that's Spotify's rule for these apps, not ours.
tunamp can only see which song is playing. It can't play, skip or change anything, and can't see anything else on your account.
Spotify stopped letting tunamp see your music. Log in again to fix it; your link stays the same.

Checking Spotify…
Log out logs this browser out of Twitch and Spotify here; the widget keeps working. Disconnect switches the widget off for good.
